Party Night is live: free party games with friends in your browser
Party Night is live at partynight.host. It is a free online party game: a board for up to 6 players, a die that rolls from 1 to 100, and 34 fast minigames where everyone plays at once. It runs in your browser, on PC or phone, with nothing to download.
Our own tagline sums it up better than a press release could: One board. Six rivals. Many bad decisions.
What is Party Night?
Think of a classic party board game, then make it faster, louder and slightly more financially irresponsible. You roll, your pawn zooms around the board, and most spaces drop the whole room into a minigame. You finish well, you earn party points. You finish last, you earn sympathy, which is not a currency.
The humour runs on debt. The bots are called Tax Evasion, Overdraft, Late Fee, Landlord, The Auditor and Bad Credit. There is a Tax Audit space. There is a minigame called Money Laundering. We are not financial advisors.
How a party works: roll, move, play, score
The board
On your turn you can buy a card with your party points, then roll the die. It goes from 1 to 100, so a single roll can send you around the whole board, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds. Cards let you reroll, double your next minigame, steal points from a rival or swap places with them.
New rooms start on the Crossroads map. It has a fork with a short, audit-heavy alley and a long scenic route, a Toll Gate tunnel, a Bank that fills up every time someone walks past it, Lucky spaces, a card Shop, and Golden Deeds. The player with the most deeds wins the party, and party points break ties. If you prefer the original 24-space loop where only points count, the host can switch to the classic map in the lobby.
The minigames
Land on a minigame space and everyone plays, not just the person who rolled. There are 34 minigames: dodging lasers, surviving a collapsing floor, bumper cars, mini golf, quick-draw duels, spot-the-difference, sumo, dodgeball and plenty more. Each one opens with a short goal on the briefing screen, so new players know what to do within seconds.
Placements pay party points: 10 for first, then 7, 5, 3, 2 and 1. Some spaces start a Duel, a one-on-one minigame for a pot of points. Others are Tax Audits, Robin Hood (who robs the richest player for the poorest), or plain bonus points.
The end ceremony
When the last turn is done, the party ends with a ceremony: the top finishers stand on a podium in their outfits, and every player gets one superlative based on what they actually did. Think Comeback Kid, Card Shark, Peaked Too Early, The Taxman's Favourite or, for the quietly average, Consistently Mid. Nobody leaves empty-handed. Some people just leave slightly roasted.
Rooms, bots and up to 6 players per room
Enter a name and pick how you want to play:
- Quick join drops you into an open public lobby, or makes one.
- Create room gives you your own lobby. Tick Private and only people with the code or link can get in.
- Join code takes the short code a friend sends you.
Every room has up to 6 seats. Bots fill the empty ones if you want them, and the host decides how many. You need at least two players in total, so one human plus a few bots is a perfectly valid Tuesday night.
The host also picks what to play: a full party board, a single minigame in quick play, or one of the board-free formats, and which minigames are allowed on the board at all.
Play on your phone
Phones are first-class players here. Each minigame gets its own touch layout, with a stick to move, a second stick to aim when the game needs one, and buttons that change per game: Dash, Jump, Shove, Whack, Cast and so on. On small screens the camera follows your character, so the action stays readable. PC players and phone players share the same room and the same rules.
Voice chat built in
Every room has voice chat. Press the voice button, allow your microphone, and you are talking to everyone else in voice in that room. The audio goes straight from browser to browser. You can turn individual people down or mute them just for yourself, and the host can switch voice off for the room.
No download, no sign-up
Party Night runs in any modern browser. You type a name and play. Your guest profile, outfit and progress are saved automatically for that browser, so you come back to the same level and wardrobe next time.
And there is plenty to come back to: levels with a reward at every level, daily and weekly challenges, minigame mastery, and hundreds of cosmetics to unlock. All of it is earned by playing. There is no real-money shop. The only Shop in Party Night is a board space where you spend party points on cards.
Where Party Night came from
Party Night began as a LAN party game that only worked on one local network, built around a minigame with a floor that collapses under you: Floor Is Debt. It grew into a six-player online party with eleven minigames, a live plaza on the front page where visitors wander around in their outfits, and then, in one very long night, 23 new minigames that took it to 34.
Floor Is Debt is still in there, by the way. It is still collapsing.
Grab a few friends (or a few bots), pick a name and roll the die. Start a party
