Daily and weekly challenges explained
Every day, Party Night hands you three small jobs. Every week, three bigger ones. Finish them and you get XP on the spot, plus a bonus for clearing the whole set. It is the closest thing this game has to a to-do list, and unlike your real one, it pays.
Here is how challenges work, what they ask for and how to clear them without changing how you play.
Everyone gets the same challenges
Challenges are shared: everybody on Party Night gets the same three dailies each day and the same three weeklies each week. Progress is personal, though, so your friend's wins do not count towards yours (no matter how hard they argue that they "carried").
That makes challenges a great excuse to play together. If today's daily is Play Bumper Cars, everyone in your room wants Bumper Cars on the playlist. Suddenly there is a lot of agreement in the lobby.
Dailies reset at midnight, and weeks start on Monday. The Progress page shows a countdown for both.
The three daily challenges
Your three dailies always come from three different pools, one each.
Slot 1: an easy one
- Play 3 minigames (75 XP)
- Play 3 different minigames (100 XP)
- Finish top 3 in 2 minigames with 4+ players (100 XP)
Slot 2: a harder one
- Play 6 minigames (125 XP)
- Win a minigame (125 XP)
- Score 10 eliminations (125 XP)
- Play 3 minigames with 3+ real players (125 XP)
- Finish a party (150 XP)
Slot 3: a minigame of the day
This one names a specific game: either Play it (100 XP) or Finish top 3 in it (150 XP). It can be any of the 34 minigames, which is a nice way to get dragged into games you have been skipping. Mastery points for that game come along for free.
The three weekly challenges
Weeklies are bigger and pay more. Each week you get three of these:
- Play 25 minigames (400 XP)
- Win 8 minigames (450 XP)
- Finish 2 parties (400 XP)
- Finish a party in the top 3 (400 XP, with 3+ players)
- Play 8 different minigames (400 XP)
- Score 60 eliminations (400 XP)
- Play 15 minigames with 3+ real players (450 XP)
- Finish top 3 in 10 minigames (400 XP, with 4+ players)
A few terms, since the fine print matters in a game about audits:
- Real players means humans, not bots. You and one friend plus four bots does not count. You and two friends does.
- Eliminations are knockouts: think Meat Grinder, Instagib Arena, Ricochet Tanks or Dodgeball.
- Finish a party means sticking around until the ceremony at the end of a Marathon or an Elimination.
Completion bonuses
Every challenge pays its XP the moment it completes. Clear the whole set and there is more:
- All three dailies done: 25 shards.
- All three weeklies done: a crate.
Shards also come from duplicate cosmetics, level-ups, streaks and mastery. You can spend 150 of them to craft a crate item of your choice, buy an item from the daily Shard deals on the Rewards page (achievement items you have not unlocked yet), or pay for an extra challenge swap (more on that below). Six days of cleared dailies alone pays for a crafted pick.
A free reroll every day
Hate today's challenge? Your first reroll each day is free. Next to each unfinished daily there is a Swap button that trades it for a different challenge from the same pool. Still not happy? More swaps that day cost 50 shards each. A few rules:
- It only works on dailies, not weeklies.
- You cannot swap a challenge you already finished.
- Your reroll is your own: your swapped challenge can differ from your friends'.
- Your free swap comes back at midnight.
Our advice: use it on the minigame of the day if it names a game nobody in your group likes, or on Win a minigame if you are playing against the bots on a hard day. We are not judging. The Auditor is, but we are not.
How to clear challenges without trying
Most challenges fall out of a normal party night on their own:
- Play a full party. Even a 5-game Marathon covers Play 3 minigames along the way, and Finish a party completes at the ceremony. Play now starts one in a single click.
- Invite at least two friends. Anything that says "3+ real players" needs three humans in the minigame: you and two friends.
- Check the minigame of the day in the lobby. The host can make sure it is in the playlist, or you can play it once in quick play.
- Go for podiums, not just wins. Several challenges only need a top-3 finish with 4 or more players, and bots count as players there.
- Use Marathon for volume. An 8- or 12-game Marathon chews through Play 25 minigames and Play 8 different minigames quickly.
Challenges stack nicely with the rest of progression: the XP feeds your level, the minigames feed your mastery, and your first minigame of the day keeps your streak alive. Read how levels, streaks and mastery work for the full picture, or how Marathon and Elimination work if you are brand new.
